The Wawa Welcome America festival is Philadelphia's premier July 4th celebration, renowned as the largest in the nation and one of the largest free festivals in the country. Spanning sixteen days, this dynamic event offers residents and visitors free, family-friendly programming citywide, celebrating arts, culture, diversity, education, wellness, history, and performance. Attendees can enjoy free concerts, dazzling fireworks, complimentary museum access, the iconic Wawa Hoagie Day, and much more.

In 2021, the festival introduced "Freedom – Liberty," a new program commemorating Juneteenth in partnership with the African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) and VISIT PHILADELPHIA®. Designed by AAMP, this initiative explores the historical significance and connections between Juneteenth and July 4th while promoting education and awareness.
