Micklethwait Barbecue

Micklethwait Craft Meats is a renowned barbecue establishment in Austin, Texas, celebrated for its oak-smoked meats and made-from-scratch sides. Founded in 2012 by Austin native and chef Tom Micklethwait, the business began as a food truck and quickly gained recognition for its exceptional barbecue. In 2025, Micklethwait relocated to a brick-and-mortar location at 4602 Tanney St., transforming a former church into a vibrant BBQ haven. The new space offers indoor seating and an expansive outdoor dining area beneath native pecan trees, providing a relaxed atmosphere for patrons to enjoy their meals.

The menu at Micklethwait features a variety of smoked meats, including brisket, pork ribs, lamb, barbacoa, and a rotating selection of sausages.
